Will there be shops in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ main store on Switch, Nook’s Cranny, is upgradable. At first, Tom Nook’s nephews will be selling their wares out of the Resident Services tent. You can track this using the “Active Island Resident” Nook Mileage task at the very bottom of the list.

They are twins and both share resemblance to Tom Nook, even mimicking some of his phrases. In earlier games, Timmy and Tommy are suggested to be Tom’s sons or nephews. But Nook states in Animal Crossing: Wild World that he has no relation to Timmy and Tommy, and that they are simply his employees.
